Temporary, Part time, Contract position | May 15 - September 15, 2023
Reporting to the Tourism Inspiration Centre Manager and Indigenous Tourism Specialist, the Indigenous Cultural Ambassador (ICA) is a temporary, part-time, contract position onsite at the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Inspiration Centre outside Peachland. The ICA is a position created to deliver the activities associated with the Destination BC Indigenous Learning and Projects grant for the summer season 2023.
The objective of the project is to complement the existing Indigenous Artisan Trails (IArT) Venue which is located at the Tourism Inspiration Centre. The role of the ICA would be to engage and educate visitors to the centre while honouring Indigenous cultures, and promoting intercultural understanding and communication between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples.
