In some parts of the world it's a necessity, but here in the Thompson Okanagan dog sledding is a fun sport rapidly gaining in popularity. There are outfitters around and waiting until once the snow flies to take you for the canine ride of your life. The city of Falkland hosts the annual Falkland International Sled Dog Races. Also, many of the ski resorts in the Thompson Okanagan offer dog sledding.
