Guided or non-guided, this is the best way to see the sights up close and personal. Choose from a number of trips on the old Kettle Valley Railroad path including riding the recently restored Myra Canyon trestles to exploring the Naramata Bench wineries…what a choice!
Tour 1 – Kelowna Myra Canyon Trek (half or full day)
- Located only 18 kilometres from downtown Kelowna, the Myra Canyon trestles ride is seemingly a world away from the valley below as you’re transported to the calm and serenity of the trestle’s alpine heights at over 2,100 metres. The devastating forest fires of 2003 damaged the trestles through Myra Canyon but they have been re-built and are now fully open. This ride offers amazing views and journeys over 18 trestles covering a 20 kilometre distance. The trail can be a perfect outing for families and more adventurous for those who wish to ride longer and harder. This tour could be made into an overnighter or weekender with a stay at Chute Lake Resort on the way to Penticton.
Tour 2 – Naramata Bench Winery Trek (full day)
- This is an exploration one of the most scenic sections of the Trans Canada Trail along the Kettle Valley Railway above Naramata. You start the day with a picturesque one hour drive from Kelowna to Chute Lake Resort located in the mountains high above the village of Naramata. It is here where the tour starts a downhill cycle of 36 kilometres. You will see rock ovens built by the crews during the construction of the railway between 1912-1914. You will pass by orchards and vineyards through this wonderful valley that offer superb lake views before stopping at Hillside Estate Winery for lunch and sample wine tasting.
- Tours include: giant suspension bike rental, guide, helmet, lunch, snacks, transportation, water, and wine tasting if applicable.
